Gerber Tri-Tip Fixed Blade 18

What a fantastic fun little piece of kit from Gerber. Its really well made. Quality. Sharp and the stonewash finish gives it a lovely look and finish. A tidy sized chunk of metal has some heft and is ground and sharpened to give this mini cleaver a cool and functional look. Qhite light. The aluminium scales are well shaped, subtle texture which gives good grip. Nice lanyard hole is a well thought addition. Even though the sheath looks a bit big it's actually quite slim and has a few different carry options. I really like that. The safety clip is clever and works very well. It actually works well with food prep. Veg, salad, and meat. Even cutting up my steak and pork chops. It works! and it isn't cumbersome at all. What I got for a bit of fun actually works really well. Looks great too. It has its place as a piece of camp kit, fairplay. This will be used for campervan duties deffo.....and when I'm camping in the kitchen too lol.. Just a nice functional little bit of kit. Very clever from Gerber. Top job from Heinnie Haynes, Again!!

I have received my Gerber tri tip this morning, shaving sharp right out of the box. It has a nice weight, hefty little thing but cute without any flaws. Highly recommended! Fastest delivery as always… Thank you Heinnie Haynes!

Currently trialling this on a week hiking and camping in the New Forest. So far it's handled everything from bushcraft tasks to meal prep without losing it's edge yet. Love the holster which is comfortable on the belt and has a good positive lock, but being plastic time will tell as far as durability goes. The handle is a wee but skinny for my big hands but a bit of wrap solved that. Ultimately I'm pleasantly surprised for what was an impulsive purchase as I liked how it looked. Recommended.

Very handy outdoor and indoor

This is a chunky, hefty bit of kit. In no way could I have guaged the overall size of this, even with the measurements provided. It looms large and speaks practical. The handle is hard and feels as tough as the heavy duty metal chunk. It has a bit of paterning upon the sides of the grip, but this amounts to nothing much considering how smooth the handle material is. To ensure proper gripability, I would recommend either a leather wrap-around or rubber/PU cover. This item is altogether very tough, however not nearly as tough as it was trying to get the thing out of its packaging. Gerber just had to over do it. Nonetheless, its sharp out of the box, comes with sheath and two blade point protectors. A super kitchen food prep/cleaver for both camping and the home/indoors.
