What a belter this is. Gorgeous layered G10 handle with superb contouring. Lovely big blade is easy to deploy with thumbhole or axis style lock. Not quite so easy to close using the lock due to being a large folder if you have small hands. Terrific overall quality.
Usual Gerber quality at a brilliant price, does exactly what I want it to do, A1.
Great design easy to operate value for money
There is simpley nothing bad i can say about this knife ... i saw it on the blade show this year and i wanted one but could never get one till i started buying from HH.(once again HH you have not failed ... however the gerber sumo lives up to its name iv done some tamper tests on the knife ... and like a sumo it powers through anything i cut with it ... a few adjustments needed to be made for my prefrence (NOT to any fault of the knife) its strong fits lovely in hand razor sharp and there pivotlock A.K.A the axis lock is just of good quility as benchmades axis lock ... all in all the knife is a qulilty peice of kit and will not let you down unless used for jobs that are for fixed blades and not folders ... if kept maintained you will be shocked to how long it lasts ... big thanks to HH for once again quility service and products
Chucky blade, handle to match gives confidence in its heft. Lovlety balance and great acess lock style mechanism, Great value and will be my new work horse (I'm a farmer so get used hard sometimes)
Blade play and slight nick in blade straight from the box also you have to pull down both sides of the lock or it scrapes on theother side but other than that its a pretty knife
The Gerber Sumo was ordered as a last minute father's day gift and top points to HH for turning that order around in super fast time. Firstly Gerber have produced a simply stunning looking, if understated knife, despite being quite large. The material and ascetic choices are truly sublime and are by far and away the best aspect of this knife. Opening action is super easy, the pivot locking mechanism is sturdy and the build quality belies the reasonable price with zero flex in the blade of handle. The only negatives on the knife for me were the edge out of the box, not super sharp, found a few bite points when cutting paper, nothing that can't be resolved but if you needed something that's really sharp from the first cut this is not the blade for that and my final nitpick is trailing handle design, would have liked a pinkie grip on a blade this size. All in though and taking the price into account it's a 4/5 from me.
