The Fox Markus 140XL MB is a Reichart Markus design with serious amount of hefty qualities.

The full tang, 5mm thick, 18.7cm blade is a prominent feature as is the Niolox steel which is a high-quality stainless alloy made with vanadium, molybdenum, and niobium.

Made by Bohler, this steel offers superb hardness and edge-retention whilst still remaining corrosion-resistant. It is a blade designed for big chopping jobs such as shelter building or ground clearance.

The handle is made with black Yute Micarta with a sculpted section to improve your grip. It is supplied with a black leather belt sheath.

I have had this a little while now, but recently spent a good couple of hours on the blade. It's a great chopper but a bit too thick behind the edge, so I have re-profiled it to a nice high convex edge at about 30 degrees inclusive. Be warned - rhis steel has been hardened very well, I would say about 61 HRC, and you will need diamonds to change the profile. Well worth doing as it brings out the best in the blde. I must say thuogh that the handle is a little more squared than I would prefer.
