When William Henry first prototyped this pendant with an inlay of 'crushed' carbon fibre, they loved it as it was. Stark, strong, dramatic, unadorned. To stay with that feeling, they offer the William Henry P35 Force Carbon Fibre on a supple rubber cord with a sterling silver spring clasp closure.
Use the Force, and keep it simple!
Carbon fibre is a material consisting of microscopic fibres composed mostly of carbon atoms. The carbon atoms are bonded together in crystals that are more or less aligned parallel to the long axis of the fibre. The crystal alignment gives the fibre high strength-to-volume ratio. Several thousand carbon fibres are bundled together to form a tow, which may be used by itself or woven into a fabric.
Carbon fibre's properties, such as high stiffness, high tensile strength, low weight, high chemical resistance, high temperature tolerance and low thermal expansion, make them very popular in aerospace, civil engineering, military, competition sports. William Henry uses the highest grade, and beautifully textured carbon fibre for its collections of jewellery, knives, money clips and cufflinks.
