This version of the TOPS B.O.B. (Brothers of Bushcraft) aka the BOB Fieldcraft Knife is another without a blade coating. TOPS listened to you guys when some of you said that you prefer to have an uncoated blade, and yet again they’ve delivered.
The TOPS B.O.B. is a hugely successful line of bushcraft knives and for good reason. The blade is made from 1095 steel with a Scandi grind. This offers you a highly effective cutting edge which is not only sharp, but very strong too. You can also see the steel running right through the length of the knife, further increasing the knife’s strength, as well as improving it’s balance.
The Black Micarta handles on this knife are superbly designed. They are ergonomically shaped as to fit almost any hand size comfortably. Also you’ll find that the more you use the knife, the darker the handles will become as moisture enters the canvas. The handle also boasts frictionless bow drill divots for ease of fire starting. Speaking of fire starting, the Brothers of Bushcraft have included a scraper of the exposed pommel, which is designed for use with a ferro rod so you do not have you use the spine of your blade.
