Drawing inspiration from the iconic Native folding knife, the Spyderco Shaman offers the same advanced ergonomics and proven design dynamics in a larger, even more capable format. The soul of this impressive design is its CPM® S30V® stainless steel blade, which features a full-flat grind for outstanding edge geometry and an acute, utilitarian point. A fully accessible Trademark Round Hole proudly announces its Spyderco lineage and ensures swift, reliable, one-handed opening with either hand. The stonewash-finished blade is housed in an exceptionally refined, ergonomic handle built with nested skeletonized stainless steel liners and contoured matte-finished G-10 scales.

This robust construction forms the foundation of the knife’s high-strength Compression Lock mechanism, which locks the blade securely open and allows safe, easy one-handed closing. To ensure convenient carry and immediate access, a stonewashed four-position pocket clip offers left or right-side, tip-up or tip-down carry. This version has a stainless uncoated blade with a plain edge. The Shaman offers powerful cutting magic in a stylish, user-friendly format.

    Spyderco Shaman

Posted by Jason on 24th Mar 2023

Beast of a Spyderco, will definately consider purchasing in the future. I did return. Only on the basis the 1 tiny thing, that down to preference a lot of people wouldnt see an issue, and isnt really, just the nub on the blade catches your thumb upon closing. Depending on your hand size it may not be noticeable, i have quite big hands, so the 'Shaman' itself would be perfect. Its one of those knives you think straight away as you get it out of the box. You can tell where your moneys gone. Its really robust, large and very well made.

    1st knife

Always been interested in knives but never owned one. Had my heart set on a TRC apocalypse but my head, surprisingly, said overkill. I recently managed to see and handle a few modern folders in the flesh so hope that qualifies my review. The stonewashed blade is beautiful and the reflections make it appear like glass. Not sure how this is done but it's appreciated. Blade centering was slightly off but not enough to worry about. Action after several hours of play is loosening up. It's been smooth throughout. Nice detent. The handle is the star of the show - very nicely finished and speaks of a premium product, which it is. The contours and patternation herein, to me, make the G10 look almost like carbon fibre. Maybe not, but it really does look and also feel great. The knife literally disappears in your hand in a number of positions with no hotspots to speak of. In conclusion, I am feeling quite proud and also a bit lucky to call this my first knife. 5 stars from me.

    Spyderco Shaman

Posted by Mike Simpson on 21st Sep 2021

This is my first Spyderco Shaman, replacing a long line of Natives, I always liked the style of the Native but often thought that it would nice if it was a bit larger? Initially I was looking at purchasing a Native Chief for it’s longer blade but after reading a couple of reviews about how slender and delicate the Native Chief’s blade is I opted to go for the heavier bladed Chief. It’s only been in my pocket for a week and I already love it so much more than my old Natives! Perfect ergonomics, razor sharp blade and Spyderco’s legendary build quality, I really couldn’t be happier with my choice.
