Why change something if it works? Because Spyderco practice the principle of C.Q.I. - Constant Quality Improvement. If they can refine and improve the ergonomics or cutting performance of an established model, they do it.

The Spyderco PM2 has several changes over the classic version. The G-10 handle is narrowed at the end improving the ergonomics. The handle and blade have been profiled thinner; removing uncomfortable angles when in the closed position. It features a Compression Lock and an ambidextrous-friendly four way clip which carries tip-up/tip-down, left/right-hand and rests deeper in a pocket. Spyderco kept the same high-performance CPM-S45VN full flat-ground blade but they have also lengthened the blade’s tip and added additional surface jimping to both the spine and finger choil. Implementation of a new Bushing Pivot System generates fluid action and more consistent manufacturing tolerances. Larger lanyard gives more options for carry.

Refinements to overall construction may not be drastic or even visible to the eye but from the G-10 textured handle to the CPM-S45V steel full flat blade, everything is sharper, smoother and guaranteed to provide performance and user comfort.

Great in every aspect, my favourite to date, prefer this over every edc i've owned in the past, and as a person who wears xl gloves, it's an ideal handle size.

    Quintessential

What can you say, it’s a PM2, chances are if you’re on this page reading this review you know what a PM2 is. The one I received was in black g10 and s45vn. Took a couple of days of fidgeting and a few drops of oil to make it reliably ‘Spyderco flick’ open and drop shut. This is what a quality made knife feels like

    Feels special.

Posted by jake Bennett on 10th Feb 2021

I can see why this is a popular knife. There’s something special about it as soon as it touches your hand. Tolerances are super tight. Materials are obviously high quality. Locking mechanism feels wonderful. The blade finish just kind of sings and the minimal engravings top it all off. Don’t let anyone tell you this knife is soulless. It’s just a perfect bit of minimalist design that you’ll struggle to put down. I also own a Sage 2 and the Taiwan finish is a little ‘neater’ but feels a bit sharp on the non-cutting edges (especially in the thumb ring) and lacks the charisma on the Para 2. The Colorado plant definitely has a bit more flair. Impeccable service from Hennie as usual. Goes without saying really.

    Brilliant - but....

Posted by singleagain on 22nd Aug 2018

So, my first Spyderco knife, delivered super-fast from HH as usual. Thanks guys. I have never been a great fan of Spyderco knives - I don't know why, although the Hundred Pacer has been on my shopping list for a while. Anyway, I decided that my collection would not be complete without a couple of so called 'must have' knives, such as the Benchmade 940 or Griptillian, and of course the ParaMilitary 2. So, without repeating all the good things that have been written about the PM2, I have to agree 100%. It's beautifully put together, everything looks spot on, sharp out of the box etc etc. I had to smile at the engraving on the blade - 'Golden, Colorado USA Earth' !! How far do these knives go?!? So, why the 'but'? Well - I don't know why, but somehow the knife feels sort of soulless, without the appeal of something like my Viper Dan 2 wood, or Mcusta Tactility. I can't see myself playing with it much. It's a bit like comparing a new Audi with an old Alfa Romeo. The Audi is beautifully put together, super functional, incredibly reliable, but wouldn't stir my senses like an Alfa. But beauty is in the eye of the beholder as they say. It's still a great knife!

    Excellent EDC

The hype is true. The amount of reviews of this knife on YouTube are staggering and for good reason. Probably top 5 EDC knifes of the last decade

    It is a pleasure.

Posted by Faruk on 3rd Feb 2017

I am glad I bought this knife. I use it for simple tasks any cheap knife can accomplish, but having quality knifes gives me pleasure. I would like to thank Heinnie for making this products available for us for a fair price. I am willing to pay for a high quality product, but if I see that it is double the price of US market, it really repels me from the product and the seller. I am happy with Heinnie, I am happy with Paramilitary 2.

A CLASSIC WELL WORTHY OF ALL THE PRAISE

    Posted by GRANT.E on 27th Jan 2017

I WAS MESSING AROUND WITH ALL MY COLLECTION THE OTHER NIGHT WHICH VARIES HUGELY FROM EDC TO SURVIVAL WITH ALL DIFFERENT BRANDS AND APPROX 40 DIFFERENT BLADE STEELS. MY LARGEST SELECTION IN ONE BRAND IS 'SPYDERCO' ....NO SUPRISES, LOVE EM ALL ,BUT THERE ARE TWO KNIVES THAT 80% OF THE TIME ARE IN MY EDC ROTATION, THEY ARE THE DOMINO AND OF COURSE THE PARA. IVE HAD MINE APPROX 13 MONTH AND OK IVE HAD TO SHARPEN IT A COUPLE OF TIMES , BAR THAT ITS STILL LIKE NEW. FLIES OPEN, WITH ANY FINGER BAR MY LITTLE ONE,ABSOLUTELY SOLID STILL,S30V HOLDS UP REALLY WELL AND EASY ENOUGH TO SHARPEN, IT REALLY IS A BELTING KNIFE INFACT ANYBODY WHO HASNT GOT ONE YET AT THE PRICE AT THE MOMENT SHOULD DIVE ON IT. I GOT THE S110V VERSION , AGAIN BRILLIANT, JUST DO WITH A C/F VERSION WITH M390 OR LIKE ..ANYWAY EXCELLENT KNIFE ,ALL THE BEST ALL.
