Description

Historically the cotton sampler knife was used by cotton buyers to judge the quality of cotton by rolling small pieces of material on the section before the blade. Still used in some areas of the States, the Rough Rider Cotton Sampler Small Tobacco Bone is a collectors' piece with historical significance.


The blade is 440 stainless steel with a polished finish. The handle is tobacco bone with nickel silver bolsters. The blade is non-locking with a cutting edge under 7.6cm long making it a UK friendly carry knife.

    Lovely little EDC

    Considering how cheap this knife is, the build quality its fantastic. I live in London and this is an excellent little knife for urban/metropolitan areas because its small and non-pointy/non-threatening. The blade shape is also pretty cool. I mainly use it for opening packaging which it's great at. Whether it would be any good for other EDC task I don't know as I don't use I for much else. Closed, it's about the size of a lypsyl/chapstick. So it rides in my pocket without me knowing it's there until I need it. Cant fault this cool little knife

    I simply cant find falt with this little knife, handles are a lovely colour, , no blade play & it closes & oppens with a positive snap , i would highly recomend this knife, i even like it more than the full size cotton samplers i have .

    Perfect size for a small pocket knife. Thin and reasonably light. Qualifies as a gentleman’s folder, I think. The tip is blunt and slightly rounded, like a spey blade. The edge is good and sharp. Makes a nice addition to a collection. After a basic cleaning, including the distinctive lanyard hole - a very nice touch - and normal oiling, this trim little folder gleams. HH, nice one! Cheers!

    I brought this little knife after watching a review more out of curiosity as I like the history behind it and it's so different from anything I have in my collection , I am pleasantly surprised, it cuts very well (after I sharpened it up a little) fit and finish acceptable but not perfect and a great little edc not gonna scare anyone with this ,I like it and am so impressed with these rough rider knives as you get a lot of knife for very little money
