    Great value knife

Posted by Greg on 30th Oct 2023

What a great value little knife. Very prompt delivery. Arrived sharp, only took 2 or 3 minutes work to make it razor sharp, and so far it has kept the edge very well. Bought to use, not to collect: but a nice looking knife anyway and great functional blade. Personally I find this type of substantial sheepsfoot blade more useful than the spear point type more usually popular for pocket knives; the ruler straight edge is very very easy to sharpen and cuts effortlessly. For general handiness and superb value, I absolutely recommend this knife. Don't keep it in a collection, use it.

Rough Rider Classic Carbon II Wharncliff

Posted by Justin on 14th Apr 2022

Usual good service from Heinnie, but disappointed by the knife. I was really looking forward to this one too. Unfortunately, the centring of the blade was way off and there was a bit of pitting on the blade - expected on a carbon steel blade but not straight out of the box. Wasn’t enough to send it back and I’m well aware of the consistency issue with Rough Rider, but disappointing nonetheless. Pity.

    Carbon II Wharcliff

Posted by Craig on 24th Dec 2021

Great service from HH as usual. I don’t know why it’s called a Wharncliffe as it more a Sheepsfoot or even a Ramsfoot and is also sold as the Half Hawk in some stores. It is however a very good knife, it comes sharp and the fit and finish is spot on. This is a great pocket knife that won’t let you down.

Rough Rider Classic Carbon Sheepsfoot (not 'Wharncliffe)

Posted by Peter Mayger on 9th Oct 2021

My only criticism is that the blade does not sit centrally when closed; in fact, it almost fouls on the liner on one side. Otherwise, it feels well put together with a solid half stop and I particularly like the serrated nail nick. It is a 5th of the price of a 'top-end' pen knife I have recently bought but it is far more than a 5th of it's quality. Not everything made in China is of dubious quality and not everything made in Germany is of top quality.

ROUGH RIDER CLASSIC CARBON II WHARNCLIFF

Posted by Darren Trotter on 4th Oct 2021

Just started collecting, and this was the first Rough Rider. Definitely put me off, its a nice knife looks and materials but the blade looks twisted and its rubbing on the brass liners. Shame. Dont let this put you off you might get a good one,and for £20 ?!?
