    Hatchie River Jack

Posted by Rory Nagle on 18th Mar 2026

Outstanding, well sized, working knife. Excellent reproduction of the "Lannys Clip". Fit and finish is exactly what you would expect from RC. Fantastic knife that stays true to UK carry laws. This is pretty much perfect for those wanting large, capable work knife that can fit into the UK EDC rotation. Not the fanciest, prettiest. IMHO. But the bade itself is wonderfully ground. The swedging, the flat and the large, deep nail clip are done very well. Overall this is a great knife for users who want that bigger, hand filling size that still remains pocketable and importantly stays inside the legal requirement for UK carry. Only minor issues are that the handle does have quite an angular profile with harder edges (easily resolved if needed with some carful sanding.)and the handle material/ colours i find a touch bland. But the trade off is its Micarta!..perfect choice for a working knife. Be wonderful to see Rosecraft release some different handle materials on this pattern going forward. Overall this is brilliant knife. Highly recomended. Action and walk n talk on this are great too. Strong pull (mine is a 7-7.5). Thats two recent releases in 14c28n now that i have noticed have stronger and arguably better action than previous RC releases..(the other being the Barren Fork Jack). Rosecraft are setting a high standard. Overall my fave brand for slip joints considering the value. (Outside of Sheffield). The Hatchie River. Great knife. You dont want to miss out on this one.
