Gudy van Poppel is a fulltime Dutch Bladesmith well known for his work in both Europe and the United States. He started as a genuine Blacksmith and has been making blades for several decades. His Gitano design for Lion Steel he describes thus, "My idea behind the Gitano was to make a folding knife that is based on old south European folding knives in a new style. What I like about these knives is its elegant lines and often large blades in relation to the handles"
Lion Steel loved Gudy’s idea and decided to start this new collaboration with him and Tools For Gents that helped us to develop the final versions. The Lion Steel Gitano Santos Wood is an extremely practical and great looking folding knife that joins the “Tradition by LionSteel” collection.
It has a Niolox stainless steel satin blade and, in this version, 6AI4V titanium bolsters and liners with Santos wood handle scales. For its light weight and average dimensions, Gitano is the new elegant slipjoint knife to keep with you in your everyday working life.
