The name "Ka-Bar George Cool Name" refers to a collaboration between KA-BAR and the custom knifemaker and U.S. Marine veteran Les George. The resulting series of fixed-blade knives is called the "Cool Name" line.
According to KA-BAR, the name "Cool Name" originated during the design process. When discussing what to call the new line of knives, someone involved in the project remarked, "What should we call it? Something cool!". This simple and memorable phrase stuck and became the official name of the series.
