Rick Hinderer Knives introduces a new fixed blade knife that embodies a love for history and a commitment to quality. Inspired by the Ka-Bar USMC Mark 2 Utility this knife pays homage to the iconic design adopted by the United States Marine Corps in 1942. Unlike the original hidden tang construction, Hinderer's version features a full tang for enhanced durability, an integral guard with hard anodized aluminum bolsters, and premium 3D machined micarta handles. The pommel, made of hard coat anodized aluminum and CNC machined, ensures a precise fit and sturdy build, making it a modern yet historically rooted utility fixed blade.
In commemoration of the 75th anniversary of the end of World War II, Rick Hinderer wanted to create a knife that not only honored the original Ka-Bar but also incorporated modern advancements. Collaborating with John Stitt, CEO of Ka-Bar Knives, Hinderer Knives obtained the exclusive right to use the Ka-Bar name on this special edition knife, marking a historic first for Ka-Bar. To complement the knife, high-quality leather sheaths were crafted by Amish artisans at Woodland Harness, blending historical authenticity with practical functionality. This partnership and dedication to detail have resulted in a knife that celebrates its heritage while offering exceptional modern performance.
