Fox veleno
Bought this because I am ex forces and a collector, particularly of any with special forces connections. I understand that this one is still available for use by the Italian Carabineri special forces unit. Also I really like the shape of special forces daggers, of course they really went out years ago as a tool, they are in my opinion for collectors only. This knife has a lovely shape to it, it feels very sturdy and was sharp out of the box. It is beautifully made, the leather sheath is very nice, made out of sturdy leather with a secure fastener. The handle is a bit small for my huge hands but that goes with the territory with these Fairburn Sykes style knives. But my hands are very powerful and so I have no issues with the grip which is made from aluminium and covered in a grippy type of finish. The balance is perfect making it lovely to hold. I have been dealing with Hennies for several decades and they really are the best on line supplier that I have come across, they are exceptional in this modern world of impersonal service. So, this knife is for collectors, not a serious choice of tool, and will never leave my house, although with the blade being serrated it would be very useful for yachting cutting through rope etc. Richard at Hennies really deserves a mention he is incredibly helpful and knowledgeable.
