THEY ARE MADE IN USA NOT CHINA SO PARTLY EXPLAINS THE COST. I RATE THEM SO HIGHLY I OWN TWELVE PLUS NOW. IF YOU STORE YOUR EMERGENCY PREPPS ON GROUND FLOOR LEVEL & YOU GET FLOODED = I DOUBT ANY LIGHTERS WILL WORK BUT I HAVE NOT TRIED IT.(YET)

I used to always use clear plastic bags to keep my lighters dry, but they tend to get holes or you melt holes in them while rushing. This item solves that issue and allows you to attach it to your kit so that you don’t leave it lying around. The lid fits on the base of the body or you can tie some paracord to both ends. This item saves myself time and means my lighter always works when I have a short window to get a brew on or have a smoke. If you are totally soaked just remember to dry your thumb first still.

Cheap, really usefull and good quality!

I was lucky enough to get mine*, and it's a really nice little gadget. The bic lighter fits quite snugly inside and the cap protects the striker and gas button from accidental use when it's rattling about inside the bag. The orange colour is good and bright and the paracord loops on both cap and sleeve mean they can be secured against loss (or hung on a bag for easy access). A moulded loop on the sleeve allows the gas button to be locked on which could help if sustained flame is required. Since getting mine it's, well sat inside my bag unused. But that's the point really, I know the lighter still has all of the gas it had on the day I got it.
