Description

When it comes to wilderness chores, sometimes simple and straightforward is the best approach. The ESEE Camp-Lore PR4 is Patrick Rollins’ take on Horace Kephart’s classic design. The original prototype was made by James Gibson and tested extensively by Patrick during survival classes, off-trail backpacking, hiking and camping. It may not be pretty but it is designed to work, like all the other ESEE Knives.

It has a 1095 Carbon, tumbled finish black oxide blade with a full tang straight construction. The handle is sculpted micarta which provides a very firm and secure grip even in the wet. It is supplied with a leather belt sheath.

    Excellent

Posted by Dave Watts on 9th Jun 2025

Excellent service from HH as always, as for the knife my first impressions are really good. Arrived really sharp, shaving sharp in fact I still stropped it as I always do with any knife I buy. It feels great in the hand, I have medium sized hands so I couldn't say what it's like with larger hands. I've bought this as a camp knife capable of doing several tasks, from fire prep to skinning to chopping vegetables. I have have managed to do all of the above over the last couple of days and it preformed superb, the 4" blade is perfect for me, just the right size, I do use it in conjunction with a hatchet and folding saw and up to now it's perfect. It sits in the sheath perfectly with good retention I do intend on making a kydex sheath for it one day especially with the blade being 1095, much easier to keep it dry. I can say I'm really happy with my purchase, I do like Esee knives.
