Ötzi is one of the Europe’s oldest natural preserved mummies. He is a treasure to the archaeological community due to the preservation of his remains, and his tools. In his tool kit, the iceman had a flint dagger affixed to a wood handle. In honour of our universal human heritage, The Condor Otzi has been inspired by this hard use tool from a time when we relied on nature for our survival.

The blade isn't flint, however, it is made from 1075 high carbon steel which is less prone to chipping! The handle is American Hickory with a wire decorative binding. It is supplied with a leather neck sheath which is shrunk to fit and a knotted leather neck cord.

    Lovely little knife

Posted by JC on 5th May 2022

This is a great little knife that comes sharp out of the box and is easy to handle. It’s a great idea to give a hint of what Otzi might have used albeit rather different in materials. The knife is well made and looks great. It is a solid little workhorse. The leather sheath is nicely done although the El Salvador stamp is a bit intrusive. The neck lanyard is poorly made and one end fell off the sheath as I was unpacking it. You would think Condor could have gone the extra inch and finished it properly. Apart from that, it’s a great knife. HH service excellent as usual.

I have fallen for this little neck knife. It does everything you could reasonably ask of it, and it oozes character. Definitely one for the collection.

    Lovely Knife

Use this a lot round the house in the garden. Would look great in a collection too. Takes an edge well . Well made and stays sharp. Hanging leather neck sheath and hammered blade rounds this off nicely. This is not a fancy knife. Apart from being pretty it's pretty useful. Otzi obviously knew what he was about. Surprised his tool kit was left with him ; perhaps his copper axe head being rare at the time would identify his aggressor.
