For those intrigued by the Cold Steel Bush Ranger but seeking a budget-friendly folding field knife, Mike Wallace developed the Cold Steel Bush Ranger Lite.
With an almost identical 8.9cm (3½") Sheffield clip point blade, the Lite version of the Bush Ranger utilizes durable 8Cr13MoV steel and a thumb stud for ease of opening. As comfort in use is key, the Bush Ranger Lite’s handle is comprised of expertly contoured glass filled nylon (GFN) that fits your hand like a glove. With ambidextrous carry options offered through an interchangeable pocket clip, and weighing just 140g (4.8 oz), the Bush Ranger Lite makes carrying a breeze.
As always, safety and security continue to remain priority number one to Cold Steel, so they supplied the Bush Ranger Lite with a state-of-the-art rocker lock featuring a secondary safety that when engaged is enormously resistant to shock and impact. We’re confident you’ll agree, the Bush Ranger Lite is an excellent first folding knife or budget-friendly, reliable utility, work knife.

Came sharp enough to get going. Lock up feels solid . Positive grip on handle.
I have owned many knives in my life & this knife is probably the best folder I've ever owned, contrary to other reviewers my knife is well made and razor sharp, fits your hand perfectly. Better than a buck 110/112 half the weight and you can buy 2 for the price of the buck.
Heavy duty folder at a good price. Bowie profile covers many tasks. Used it for food prep, gutting fish, feather sticks. Great heavy duty camp knife, with quality build. Recommended. Delivered super quick by hennie, as usual.
for the money I would recommend could of been a bit sharper out of the box but thats easy to fix
This is a big knife. Quite hefty. Good solid working knife. The slide lock prevents the back lock coming undone when you don't want it to. Handles are grippy & solid. I have XL hands and it's a good hand filling grip. Someone with small hands might have issues. Back lock is easy to disengage which in some respects is preferable to the Tri-Ad. Particularly if your wearing gloves. Engagement is solid and positive. I cannot see it coming unlocked, even without the slide lock. Unless you do something really stupid with that is. Value for money certainly. However, it's only getting 4 stars because I wasn't impressed by the grind. It was sharp & even but looked like it had been put on with an angle grinder. Dragged something awful when I did my OTB paper cut test. I sorted it out quite easily but it wasn't a welcome surprise. So in summerary: Good knife. Value for money. But expect to do a little work in order to make it excellent.
These really are impressive knives for the price! They have the presence of a SOG Tomcat, with a formidable chunky bowie blade, with a solid lock up, and no wiggles.... The handles are FRN, but really chunky, and appear pretty much indestructible... The ergonomics are brilliant, and it came out of the box pretty much razor sharp. Not quite sure why they didn't go with the Tri-Ad lock on these, as there appears to be a lot less manufacturing & assembly processes in that versus the double lock, but the double-lock works well. For a shade over £30, it's a no-brainer, and I think it's convinced me to go for the more expensive, US made version, in the future..! Buy One! HH service second to none, as ever..
