Buck Selkirk
Well balanced knife , good sharpness. Sheath belt holder quite difficult to change for belt width though. Handy that it also houses a fire rod. Overall a great knife for everyday use.

The only reason I bought this is that it suited what I wanted to do with it., not for full on Bushcraft but for tasks around the site were I spend most of the summer at our club lake. Won't be use or battening because I have an axe for that. Out of the box the screws holding the handle on were loose, no big deal but will Locktite them later, the only reason for a four rating. The blade was sharp but after a bit of work on a stop and a strop is now scary sharp but remains to be seen after a bit of abuse around camp how the edge holds up. Having looked at online reviews on this particular brand it seems to have a high carbon content but with components normally in Stainless to make it more durable that makes the blade a bit softer than but when I ran a ceramic stone over it it seems to take a bit to polish the edge before stropping so not that soft. I do prefer a scandi grand as I find then easy to sharpen the bevel on this knife is suppose to be between 13 -16 degrees according to the bumpf, I found it more like 20 degrees. I like the feel of it in my hand gloved or not the handle is nice to look at then there is the scabbard....really not to my liking, again screws loose some will like it but I don't and will look for a custom leather sheath to replace it with. Firesteel is a bit thin but works and the whistle is rubbish but for the price you can't go wrong as a first knife, going to get my son one now too.
Just got one of these & i really like it. For me it works well everything is right.... nice weight , finish & fit all good (despite made in china on the blade ) The sheath ? perfectly acceptable. Overall a good allround working knife....AND IT'S A BUCK !!! need i say more.. anyone looking for a good working knife. I recommend this.
Superb knife and Worth the price handles well and sheath is hard lasting and holds the steel well. Can't fault it and able to perform numerous tasks with ease for the price if you don't like the sheath its still worth getting and adding a leather sheath if kydex isn't for you. Great item great price highly recommended
received this knife as a gift.and i can say i was surprised considering i use a selvans as my go to knife for everything.i have had buck knifes in the past while in the army and buck have upped there game since then.the knife is great in the hand with little roll while preparing kindling and feather sticks.also prepared food easily and maintained a sharp edge though out the weekend.the ferrous rod although thin in diameter is usable in a pinch.i have big hands and prefer a large knife but this will make a nice back up blade.for the price a good buy for beginners and seasoned outdoors men alike.fit and finish is spot on easy to sharpen and maintain.the sheath is molded plastic with the ferrous rod holder attached by Chicago screws.all round a good knife
I have had this knife now a couple of months and all in all its a good solid and practical tool, it has been used to dress out a deer which considering it wasn't a skinner has done a very good job and kept its edge. Why only 4 star, the sheath, it's a marmite thing you love it or hate it, I just can't seem to warm to it, if it came in a traditional sheath option, it would be an all round winner.
Got this as a gift for a friend and having seen it once opened ! i will be buying myself one. Nice fit & finish as with all buck's. Would truly recommend tis knife.
BOUGHT THIS ON WHIM, WAS PLEASED AND SURPRISED BY THE VERY THICK STURDY BLADE WHICH WOULD BE PERFECT IN A SURVIVAL SITUATION. GOOD EDGE OUT OF THE BOX ,COULD DO WITH A FINE HONE AND IT WOULD BE SUPER SHAVING SHARP. IT IS A SOLID KNIFE AND FEELS GOOD IN THE HAND AND GIVES ONE A VERY CONFIDENT FEELING OF EXPECTATION. THIS IS NOT THE NORMAL BUCK DESIGN I AM USED TO BUT NONETHELESS VERY PLEASING. ONLY DRAWBACK BLADE IS MARKES CHINA. GO ON GET ONE YOU WONT BE DISAPPOINTED.
