The British Machete Company Chopra Machete 'Phantom' was designed to limb trees, make camp, clear trails and process wood. The Phantom features a special texturised and treated blade finish. The hues change depending on light between olive grey, chalky silver and gunmetal. Fitted with Richlite Handle scales, lined with Ghost Blue or Red G10.
The CS80 blade upswept cutting edge keeps the weight raised and better balanced throughout a swing. The forward weighted blade gives a significant chop – biting deep into hard wood and removing branches with ease. The Phantom also replaces the need for a hatchet and cleaver when out in the bush.
The spine shape has three major advantages over other machete designs:
The Chopra features a primary sabre grind and finished on a linishing machine to limit pinching and aid deep cuts. It's made from CS80 Carbon spring steel for fast and effective sharpening and great edge retention. It will need sharpening from time to time; with CS80 this is easily achieved.
The ergonomic sculpted handle is a handsome combination of functional modern and traditional SE Asian shapes. The handle butt curves and swells to provide a comfortable and safe handle, giving hours of blister-free use. The handle length is extended to allow for extra leverage chops. The 'choked-up' forward grip with generous finger guard and unique ridges on the front of the thumb rise give amazing control for detailed work. Whilst the mid-grip is a perfect compromise of power and dexterity. The finger guard has been designed carefully. It separates the choil so as to avoid the index finger accidentally slipping onto the cutting edge. It is a skeletonised full tang construction offering weight saving for extended duration and peace of mind when using this tool day in day out for serious work.
Each BMC Bladeworks Chopra is individually numbered and features the initials of the designer.
