    Boker Plus Steel Mariner

You usually get what you pay for, and this knife breaks the exception just a tad. The serrations are sharp and functional, the tip is not too acute so unlikely to accidentally injure yourself or damage a drysuit by mishandling it, but it is still sharp enough to be of practical use. The opposing edges of the blade come requiring some sharpening, but the tip and serrations are excellent. The handle is light and practical, it's a highly manoeuvrable knife, with a lanyard hole and many drilled holes to cut down weight and perhaps drag in the water. The TEK-LOK is fine, but the sheath itself is the weakest point, being quite cheap brittle plastic. The blade doesn't feel as though it is stong enough to bear any great weight without shearing, but it's a very affordable functional marine knife that attaches easily to many modular systems and it looks good. If you want an affordable utility diving knife, this knife performs well and bang on budget.

Ahhh'the cunning product shot! 3mm thick tang, has maximum width of 23mm at serrated section of the blade. Narrows to 20mm at guard section of the tang. Spear point blade is flat and narrow, so probably not cut out for prying jobs. Blade needed finish with diamond rod. Serrated section bites and would make light work of any cordage/ netting etc. it may be called in to deal with. Handle/ scales are well done + I prefer flat profile design of vented dive knives to bulkier counterparts. The seller for me on this is the tek-lok sheath. Multiple adjustment options, with snap lock attachment, gives this sheath the edge over any other i've come into contact with. Fastens in horizontal position if attached to belt, but secures to just about any flat webbing/ strapping, including the neoprene diving cuff mines locked to. Criticism would be that blade could have been wider/ slightly thicker as tang would have accommodated this. Heinnie delivery/ service A1.
