    Al mar payara

Posted by Gary Owen on 15th Apr 2024

As a long time collecter of al mar. I brought, my first al mar in the mid 1980s. Having owned and used this knife for several months. I would like to say, it is a good honest working knife it holds a good edge and is easy to sharpen with a lansky sharpening kit it did take some time to break in over a period of months, but now is quite slick. But nowhere near the quality of the original al Mars I own around 40 different models from the 1980s. For actual knife to use, I would score it 7.5 to 8 of 10. But we have to remember it is af fraction of the cost of the 1980s models.. my first al mar cost if memory still cost over £40 in mid 80s. As a every day pocket knife above adequate, but don't expect old school al mar quality
