Willem Steenkamp has been a member of the Knifemakers’ Guild of Southern Africa since 2007. It is an association with the most stringent criteria of acceptance. It's members therefore have to achieve levels of quality and precision craftsmanship before they can be considered for membership.
With it's non-locking M390 blade, the Barlow is an exquisite folding knife with a spey blade. The tolerances are such that the blade has a discernible snap opening and closing with a firm half-stop and a good degree of resistance in the open position. The handle is a real tour de force of the knife makers craft. It features two Mopani Burlwood scales and a stainless bolster.
