Multi-tools are full of extremes. They're extremely handy, extremely functional and extremely compact. And the SwissTool Spirit X proves they can also be extremely elegant. It's a lighter, more ergonomic, more beautiful multi-tool. And you'll notice this every time you use it. Which is good, because you'll be using it extremely often.

The tool se3lection and compactness - the fit and finish - all superb. Getting the tools out.... Not so easy. I find that pulling a major blade out (expcially the very rough file) is easy enough and that leaves space for the opposite side long tool. Then - with thopse two half out - if you squeeze them both slightly inwards and pull, it brings up the centre three tools and you can select the one you want. A faff... yes - and not quick - but it's still a delight
Lovely polished finish and accessible tools. Haven't tried the latest Leatherman tools but prefer this to the Wave and the Rebar. It's a work of art. The scissor don't open wide as the normal SAK ones but they feel more powerful like mini snips. You need to use your fingernails to get the tools out, more so that the Leatherman, which is okay as long you haven't just been doing a lot of washing up without gloves, or had them pulled out under torture.
Exceptional craftmanship. The design and precision of these tools is like poetry in steel. I'm sure Leatherman trembled in fear when Victorinox came out with this but alas Leatherman still appears to be top dog for having the name and branding in the multitool market. However if you want a quality multitool you should seriously take a look at this, very seriously.
