Victorinox Swiss Champ 91mm Red Folding Knife 18

The VICTORINOX SWISSCHAMP has been the main tool in my EDC for the past 35 years and has never let me down. I've only had to replace it once after stupidly lending it to a drunk friend to open a bottle of wine in Portugal. He left it on a table and hay presto by the time I discovered where he left it; It was gone so surprise really. But what I'm really trying to do is let you guys know that unless you loose one like a chump you this item and the tools in contains should be enough to get you through. I don't think there's been a day where my VICTORINOX SWISSCHAMP hasn't been used. Note that it is best carried on the belt in a VICTORINOX Holder as it's heavy enough to wear a hole in the cotton pocket of your everyday Denim Jeans. I'd go so far as to say that given the proper training this particular 'SWISSARMY KNIFE' is the only survival tool you need. I would liken it to a ZIPPO LIGHTER. Its' very low maintenance, tough and reliable and will help you get out of or overcome any situation from food preparation to lighting a fire with the magnifying glass to picking out wood splinters with the tweezers. Every single tool on this knife has been used for the purpose it was intended and a fifty others besides. In short if you don't have one then get one. Take good care of it and it will take good care of you. One last thing treat it like a lady and don't leave it alone with a drunk guy even if he's your friend. :-)

In the 47 years that I've daily carried my Swiss Champ I've been really quite surprised at its capabilities and immensely impressed with its truly outstanding quality. The woodsaw has cut letterbox slots in hardwood doors and cut mountains of firewood amongst a lifetime of other use yet still remains razor sharp! The excellent tweezers have extracted wood and steel splinters from beneath skin, and amongst their other uses, the pliers are perfect for repairing broken necklaces and earrings. The can opener and corkscrew have been the only one's I use at home, and decades later the can opener still works like new! Over almost half a century of carrying and using my Swiss Champ, I've come to believe that its uses are limited by imagination only! I could write a book on the things that its enabled me to achieve or repair, but I'm trying to be concise in my review. Its the best thing that I've ever bought and the most useful and reliable too, and it will certainly outlive my useage and be passed on after I have. I recommend the Swiss Champ (and any genuine Victorinox SAK) wholeheartedly, its a truly remarkable piece of equipment that I consider to be essential.
