When you look at similar Victorinox knives you realise you are paying a hefty premium just for the red scales. you buy the knife for its usefulness not a fashion show so shop around and get a similar knife for half the price. I love my pioneer that I have had since the 1990's but the 'X' version is just a bit too big to sit comfortably in your pocket
