Description

This limited run of traditional folders has been made for Twisted Assisted by one of the last commercial slip joint manufacturers in Sheffield U.K. Using vintage machinery, some of it dating back to Victorian times, each folder is then hand finished to achieve a truly authentic Sheffield slip joint. These slip-joints are a take on a classic knife, instead of stag antler or rosewood, our range come in a variety of premium USA made Micarta handles, and the nickel silver bolsters contrast nicely with the brass liners and pins.

The C70 carbon steel blade harkens back to a simpler time where reliability, durability and ease of sharpening were key. Each blade is stamped with the Twisted Assisted logo and Sheffield makers mark.

    Twisted assisted/Arthur Wright

Posted by Mark O on 27th Oct 2025

Handle, liners, bolsters, pins and back spring are all to a high standard, very smoothly finished and well presented and the blade is perfectly centered in the handle. The blade's presentation is where this knife is let down by it's producer. It arrived as blunt as a butter knife, unusable and had to be given a proper edge on a Lansky. Also the logo on the blade is only partly visible as the it's partially hidden behind the bolsters. If this is the best a Sheffield knife maker, with all that heritage, can manage these days it's probably best to call it a day and leave it to the Chinese to produce knives for the company as they appear to do twice the job in production for half the money. We're it not for the standard/finish of the handle, liners etc it would have been just 2 stars....quite disappointing.
