Very Good but quirky
I have a number of Trayvax wallets and the Renegade follows the company’s traditional approach of using excellent materials in a somewhat quirky, and unusual design. This is a simple zipper wallet, made from latigo leather, which is supple yet hard wearing. It’s one piece of leather, split and then machine sown. The zip is top quality, from YKK. The tag has a paracord handle, which you can fold over the metal attachment point and “lock” the wallet, when you clip it to something. Inside the wallet there is one leather divider, providing two compartments. In use, you come up against some of the quirky design decisions. It’s long and thin, but the opening is small, so you have to fold notes, you can’t slide them in unfolded. Accessing items in the wallet is not difficult but with a wallet of this shape, Trayvax should have designed it with a wider aperture, larger dimensions or extended the zipper round a corner to improve access. I usually carry about 7 cards and they all fit on one side of the divider. You could easily carry that again and some cash in the other section. However, cards sit in the middle of the wallet, unless you slide them to one end. The wallet can become a little bulky in the middle. There’s unused space at each end of the wallet, you could fill this with a key, some coins or other small items. But a longer zip would still have been better. I like the wallet. The zip is a joy to use, and the carrying capacity is excellent. Make sure you have large pockets though. The materials are of high quality, although the leather on my brown wallet, is darker than the online images. I enjoy it but it won’t be for everyone.
