TOPS Scandi Trekker Fixed Blade 18

I posted a review a couple of weeks ago saying I was going to add a dangler but trying one it didn’t work as the knife flipped upside down. Due to this balance issue and the handle sitting high in the sheath then it’s also no good as a neck knife. You can however use it semi front scout carry if your belt is only about an inch thick allowing the knife to tip to about 45 degrees. If ever I see a kydex sheath with dangler then I will get one. This idoes not affect my opinion of the knife as one of my favourite tools at the moment much more nimble than the Tops BOB and great all round bushcrafter.

My kids bought me this for Christmas. It’s a terrific knife. I already owned the MSK 2.5 which I also love but this fits my hand better. The blade is slightly bigger and broader but the same thickness. Due to Covid I have only used it in the garden but it makes feather sticks very well. It came very sharp. It is more nimble than the traditional Ray Mears design knife and feels just right in my hands. The sheath seems well made but does ride high on the belt so I will be buying a dangler for it. The handle is a darker green than the online photos but very grippy canvas micarta. I do like Tops linen dark grey micarta with red liners normally but the green still looks ok. I’m sure with use it will become even darker like my other Tops knives. Tops designed this to be a partner to the BOB and MSK and it fits that role well. This is one of my favourite tools and the best present I have received in years.

I absolutely love this knife, I have been using it for hunting tasks for bushcraft and carving tasks, IT IS AMAZING! feel great in your hand the scandi grind is outstanding, the steel is real nice, I cant really fault it. I love tops as a whole but their new scandi line is outstanding. as always great service from HH

have all three of the collection now and a lot of other knives, a lot, bet I've found this to be the most comfortable knife to use and very easy to carry, Peter said it all really(cop out) but i really like this knife, I've big hands and this knife just dopes into place every time, I've even used it as a necker, its great in the kitchen, in the garden, in the field, sharp, tough, as you gather i think this is a good knife, good maker to, attention to detail, highly recommend it.

As always thumbs way up for the HH service. The TOPS Scandi Trekker is a superb knife. Ergonomically perfect and is the perfect blend of traditional and high tech. You just know that this medium sized knife is going to get the job done. Exudes quality and is of such solid construction you know it just is going to work. Very good quality leather sheath which retains the knife well but a kydex option would have been nice. Incredibly sharp (out of the plastic bag) and will no doubt hold an edge well. With TOPS you just know you are getting a high quality product and it upholds the fine history of knife making from the USA. Great bit of kit.
