TOPS Moccasin Ranger Fixed Blade 18

Factory grind is poor. Spent ages reprofiling it. Wouldn't buy again. Spend money elsewhere.

Just like Alex, the reviewer below, I was pleased to see mine arrive in Kydex. The MR88 is beautifully made in the USA. Blade inc. ricasso, just under 6.5" long. Handle just over 4.5" long. Extended tang .75" long. Stock 6.35mm. All specs approx. Balance point .25" in front of the first scale bolt. It has a shallow but comfortable choil. The Moccasin Ranger is a nice solid practical multi-purpose fixed blade. You know it as soon as you pick it up. I am very happy with mine. There are lots of pics and reviews online, and even a few Youtube vids. But before I sign off, I need to mention this CAPTCHA or re-CAPTCHA device below. At this moment in time, I could think of a lot very bad language, because I can not submit this review. If you do not want reviews at HH, then remove the facility. Out.

cracking knife, I've split a ton bag of wood with it and carved a spoon, replacement axe handle and bowdrill set amongst other things so far, I use a traditional flint and steel for most of my fires and with a flint (rock) on the back of the blade it'll strike a excellent spark for your char cloth/charred punk wood (obviously it'll take the coating off the back) so in short, tough, good for chopping upto shelter sized poles, can do delicate work oh and so easy to get a shaving edge back on and keeps the edge for a long time.

This is an awesome knife; haven't used it yet, but it feels heavy and tough. I don't really need to add a performance review because this knife has many great video reviews out there cheering it's corner. What I will add though is that despite calling HH to confirm that it came with a nylon sheath (as described) it in fact came with a Kydex one. This is not a complaint as such, because I wanted the Kydex one! so a nice surprise as I was geared up to mod the pants nylon one. Great knife - KYDEX SHEATH!! as supplied by TOPS. Oh and a whistle.

An excellent strong full tang knife. Could do with a slightly larger guard and a the top edge sharpened. Care needed when changing grip or passing from one hand to the other. Came with a Nylon sheath, a kydex sheath was an option which was taken up and this retains the blade more securely.
