TAD Talisman Black Jacket

Superb quality and surprisingly warm with just the cotton lining. I bought a Large, I'm 6 foot, 36 waist and 15 stone. Fits nicely without any major gaps and room for a reasonably thick layer underneath. The collar and arms are a perfect length for me. This is my second TAD jacket and they are absolutely worth the extra money. I've been looking at Barbours for a while but just didn't like the styling so when I saw this I took the plunge. This is very much like an M-65 jacket in style and length. The hood is a really good size and would fit over a watch cap easily. Overall a great jacket and I bought the wax at the same time to keep it waterproofed.

Super quality functional wax jacket. Design well thought out. Minimal cold weather protection on the way of insulation but great in wet, breathable robust fabric and comfy as you like. Blocks wind well. Exceptional build quality. Worth the money all day long. Great replacement for anyone wanting a natural old school answer to wet weather thin breathable jacket.

I reviewed this jacket last year after purchasing a black one. My views have not changed since that feedback. If anything I have become more impressed with this jacket. The black is best suited to an urban environment. Hence the reason why I purchased a Havana one this week from HH HQ for field use. I cannot recommend this product enough. It took me over a year to buy this jacket. I kept going back & forth about was it worth it, was it over priced, was it right for me. Short answer is it's a great jacket. I wish I bought it last year. It develops a patina as you wear it but it looks better the more you wear it. A few things worth knowing. One is it's a relaxed fit, which is great as you can layer without looking like an over stuffed sausage. But when worn over just a shirt it doesn't look baggy. The only small negative is I recently took it to Scotland for the weekend & spent some time out side in it in some barely believable rain, genuinely couldn't have been raining harder. Whilst I stayed dry given I wasn't out for a prolonged period it did feel like it absorbed some water as it was quite heavy for 24hrs or so after. But 99% of the time it will be fine in all but the most hardcore weather.

Another excellent product by the team at TAD. I have to say this is an excellent modern creation of a cross between some of the old ventile style jackets tested and used by specialist Military teams in the 80/90's /early 2000's and the traditional old barbour style jacket. The jacket is well designed and comfortable to wear. It is styled to be worn in a multitude of environments. You could wear this jacket on the fells, in the city and on any of your adventures and travels wherever they take you. All I can say is get one!

You get what you pay for and for £499 you get a waxed jacket... Just let that settle in £499 for a waxed jacket. But its a TADGear jacket to its built to last, built to perform, fits well and will sheild you from the extremes of wind and rain. £499 for a waxed jacket that till last a lifetime.... £499
