Why change something if it works? Because Spyderco practice the principle of C.Q.I. - Constant Quality Improvement. If Spyderco can refine and improve the ergonomics or cutting performance of an established model, they do it.
The Spyderco Para Military 2 Black has several changes over the classic version. The G-10 handle is narrowed at the end improving the ergonomics. The handle and blade have been profiled thinner; removing uncomfortable angles when in the closed position. It features a Compression Lock and an ambidextrous-friendly four way clip which carries tip-up/tip-down, left/right-hand and rests deeper in a pocket. Spyderco kept the same high-performance CPM-S45VN full flat-ground blade but they have also lengthened the blade’s tip and added additional surface jimping to both the spine and finger choil. Implementation of a Bushing Pivot System generates fluid action and more consistent manufacturing tolerances. Larger lanyard hole gives more options for carry.
Refinements to overall construction may not be drastic or even visible to the eye but from the G-10 textured handle to the CPM-S45VN steel full flat blade, everything is sharper, smoother and guaranteed to provide performance and user comfort. Made in Golden, Colorado U.S.A.

I have discovered the reason there are so replacement scales available - delivery idiots who have no respect. Otherwise I would give this knife 5 stars, despite the large amount of blood I have lost.
I have collected knives for more than 40 years. I have amazing and poor where quality has no correlation to cost. Been keen purchase a mainstream popular spyderco (which I did in this £220 PM2) and a similar knife from their non USA made range_ which I did in a tenacious with similar spec. The PM2 is a nice knife. Blade is tight and smooth. Needed some adjustment out the box and a decent amount of stropping to bro g the blade to where it should be. Is it worth £220? Heck no. It’s all gimmick and playing to the guys who believe this is art. It’s a £120 knife at best and in fact the tenacious is absolutely as good if not better.
My first spyderco. Obviously not a cheap knife but very impressed with the quality. Cannot fault the build quality or service from HH. Only time will tell re edge retention etc.
GOAT that is what I read from blade experts. it is good but.. I would like an added wave feature and also buy Heinnies stone washed titanium scales to make it then GOAT IMO
Its good.
Excellent, every day pocket knife
Fantastic service as always. Knife is what I was exactly after super light and sharp. A great tool.
I already own an PM2 but wanted to try the new S45vn steel and the newer QCI model. I'm over the moon with it, within a day the blade drops shut with no lock stick. The back blade looks good and slices through stuff very easy. This knife will last for many years with little maintenance apart from sharpening. I'm very pleased with my purchase so if you see it in stock and you like the PM2 grab it before it's out of stock again.
