    Spartan folder

Posted by Jez on 30th Jan 2025

I have some Spartan Harsey fixed blades, and they are excellent, bought from Hennies of course. The amount of pure engineering finesse is outstanding, so, I wanted a folder hence this review. I would rate the level of build quality very highly indeed, so it should be for nearly£500, details such as the frame lock being a solid piece of steel not the normal thin frame. My only critism would be the slow opening speed, one needs to carry it out in at least 2 stages open the blade then fully extend it, this can be overcome by using full power in the hand movement, however this might loosen up over time and I never need to open the knife quickly, I am an aged pensioner interested in collecting knives not flashing them off. It came razor sharp out of the box and overall I would highly recommend it, if you are a 'knife dude' then look elsewhere this is for discerning people who enjoy the engineering and feel of knives. Having been in the forces I was taught to thoroughly respect knives and how to use them properly and safely. I have no time for the youngsters who carry knives on the street with nefarious intent, I say join the paras and then the special forces that will knock any latent aggression out of you.
