    workhorse of a knife

Posted by dandelion on 17th Apr 2020

Bought this years ago, when I started to get interested in bushcraft. I've used it to chop down trees, batoned through some rather large chunks of wood and accidently smashed it in a rock and its survived it all. It's my go to survival knife because I know I can rely on it

    Well worth the money

A very good all round knife for all occasions, it has a great handle that fits my hand perfectly ,various notch positions on the handle for various tasks eg whittking, chopping etc, people complain about the sheath but I think it is great especially the add on pouch where you can add things to your needs, I have a sharpener and fire steel, heavy duty , spot on.

    WOWCHA!!!!!

How do you do it. I ordered my F9 at 4.38pm last night and it arrived at my doorstep in the North East at 10.30am this morning. Again, excellent service from HH.

The knife is all I knew it would be. Weighty, but not too heavy, the scales are comfortable in my hand. I know that I can quite comfortably use this knife for prolonged periods as it's replacing my Schrade F6. There's nothing wrong with my 36, just my son has claimed it and I needed a replacement.

I have desperately tried to find fault with the knife, but like my other 3 Schrade's, I can't. If anything, and it's really insignificant, OTB it wasn't quite shaving sharp like my others were, but hey, I didn't buy it to shave with. 2 minutes on the stones and hey presto, it's just as sharp as the others.

I really like the design, build, quality & prices of the Schrade knives and as long as they keep producing quality, functional, usable products for very a reasonable cost, then I'll keep buying them.

    Heavy Duty

Posted by Barry on 12th Sep 2014

Just started getting into bushcraft but wanted a heavier duty blade. Great knife for the price and for 1095. The sheath is a let down as it's not very rigid and flops around unless tied to the leg but the pouch is a bit of a plus.

I thought the scales would be too big but fit perfectly in my Medium sized hand. I will eventually make some custom wooden ones that are a bit more ergo but can't complain out of the box.

If you are thinking about buying this look to see if you can ship over a kydex sheath or make your own as it's the only real let down in my opinion.

This is my first buy from HH & now I know why they receive such high praise, outstanding service, many thanks to all at HH.
As for the knife, it to is outstanding, weighty but not heavy, some have said the grip is to big, I don't have big hands & its fine for me.
It came very sharp OTB, most of all, I feel this knife would handle anything I could throw at it & say 'is that all you've got'
The sheath is well made & one of the most versatile I've come across.
Overall I'm extremely happy with every aspect of my purchase, exceptional service from HH & exceptional VFM with the F9.

    Schf 9 - out of 10

Posted by Mart on 26th Apr 2013

This is a really good, solid blade. I bought one from HH about a year ago but almost returned it because of the handle scales. They felt cheap, misaligned and generally poor although they do afford a good grip. I kept the knife and rebuilt it with some homegrown linen micarta scales. What an amazing difference. Seriously, buy this knife as a project and you won't be disapointed. Buy it as it stands and you will still get a really good, heavy duty knife. Either way you will get your monies worth. HH? Always excel!
