The SCANDINOFF NORDIC PROTECTOR 130 BUSHCRAFT knife is primarily designed for Bushcraft and Outdoor applications.
This robust and enduring knife boasts a unique design within the SCANDINOFF design ethos. Setting it apart from other fixed knives are several distinctive features:
Firstly, its blade shape draws inspiration from the original designs of Seax Viking knives. Secondly, its handle ergonomics include a bevel towards the blade, providing both a comfortable grip and a secondary barrier against hand slippage, aided by the protective protrusion (heel). Additionally, the gently curved handle shape, a hallmark of all SCANDINOFF knives, enhances ergonomics and ensures a secure grip.
Crafted from Scandinavian steel Sandvik 14C28N, renowned for its durability and widespread use in knife-making, the blade's shape replicates that of traditional Nordic Viking knives of the SEAX type.
The knife features a "TRUE SCANDI" grind, also known as the true Scandi grind, ground "to zero." The upper edge of the blade is precisely ground to a 90° angle, providing sharp edges suitable for fire-making using a firesteel.
The entire blade boasts a Stonewash finish, with the steel vacuum-hardened to a Rockwell hardness of 60±1 HRC.
Demonstrated in videos on social media, the knife's sharpness is of the highest caliber. Furthermore, the scales are crafted from high-quality G10 material, featuring an exquisite "Damascus - Nordic Woods" design.
Tested rigorously over years, the knife's construction is proven to be exceptionally durable and indestructible, owing to its Full Tang design.
