This is a beast of a knife, the fit & finish is outstanding, & lockup is very positive. The blade is scary sharp with a lovely matt finish, all in all rhis is a beautiful bug knife & i would highly recomend this knife. Its a propper handfull. . And Heinnie Haynes are outstanding for fast delivery & service .
There is mention in the other purchasers' comments of 'a good solid lock-up'. On the example I have of this product however there is a noticeable 'rock' to the blade when it is 'locked' open. Yes; the liner lock itself is very positive in itself but the blade rocks from side-to-side when it is 'locked open'. Since this is a characteristic no other reviewer has mentioned I hope the 'rocking' blade is not unique to my particular example of this product... Otherwise my observations match the other reviewer's positive comments.
This is a take on the traditional folding hunter. It is the rather odd slipjoint + liner lock system sorted on other RR models. Basically, it is a slipjoint (RR makes several two-blade version of the same pattern, which are non-locking slipjoints) but, on one side, there is an extra liner in addition to the normal liner and that extra liner acts as the liner lock (the knife is not symetrical). Honestly, it could be just a slipjoint like the two-blade versions, that would work equally well. The liner lock does stick out a bit. Super HH service as usual.
