Excellent watch
I sent this watch back… I know that’s an odd way to start a 4 star review but indulge me for a moment and il explain. There are very few reviews of this watch online ;they are new-ish to the market and at time of writing ,only one of the reviews is UK based so I’m doing my bit for the public domain! The watch is very well built, any doubts you may have about the carbon composite case being lightweight or cheap feeling will be dispelled the moment you remove it from its packaging. As you would expect for a watch of this price it’s well built and solid, bezel clicks are solid with no back play. Screw down crown is well machined and the rubber grip allows a positive screwed down position. The artwork on the case back is excellent -it really is a shame to hide it! The strap is slightly stretchy and comfortable though it grips itself so well that it can be fiddly to put on but is secure, it’s not going to snag on anything and come un-fastened. So praise, praise and more praise. So why did I send it back? It’s a simple-some might say trivial- point . Due to the subdued, tactical nature of the dial , I couldn’t read the date, that’s it , that’s the only reason. So call me old fashioned, call me what you like. But I do think when you spend 400+ pounds on a watch, you should be able to read the date! Now, one point to note on that- the “non-marine” versions of this watch don’t have the subdued date window but then you have to have the bright blue or the bright red strap and highlights and I wasn’t keen on either. Talking of the strap, in closing; it can be easily exchanged for a nato if you so desire. Tritium is the way forward!
