Ontario RAT 1 AUS 8 Folding Knife Brown
Ontario Knife Company RAT-1 in AUS-8 steel with coyote brown handle and partially serrated blade. I just saw this by chance while looking through. I became curious and then started reading up on it and watching some UTube vids. Pretty much evrything/everyone saying this is one of the main US "legendary" budget EDC knives. So, was hooked and had to see for myself. Ontario do several versions and metals now...I went for Aus 8 because the reviews were so positive. It's a good steel to sharpen and rust resistance. Good one to use in different environments/conditions. It's a durable/tough metal. I went for partially serrated- very useful for cutting through rope, cardboard as well as the flat grind drop point blade letting it slice pretty much everything. The large dual thumb studs are a great addition with jimping along the top gives even more grip, combined with bronze washers, allow for very smooth and quick one-handed opening. Very fidget friendly to play with lol. Great sized coyote brown nylon handle is lightly textured but with the contours(canoe type shape) and finger choil you get good gold and grip. Solid lockup up and liner lock. 4 way potion Pocket clip allowing tip/down options. Lanyard hole as well. This does strike me why this knife is classed as a legendary piece. The build, design, fit and finish is excellent. Great looking and performing EDC Knife. Im going to be using this for camping and the van. Really nice!
