    Nextool Multi-Functional "Bluntish" Knife

Posted by Adam Merton on 24th Mar 2026

For the price, this is a decent little tool to have in your kit, but it definitely has some drawbacks that keep it from being a top-tier EDC item. The most immediate issue was the blade edge. Out of the box, it arrived basically blunt and required work before it was even usable. Upon sharpening it back to a functional edge, it became clear that the metal is quite soft. While this makes it easy to sharpen, it also means the edge retention isn't great; it won't stand up to much heavy use before it needs to be put against a stone or hone again. Design-wise, there is one particularly frustrating quirk: the lanyard/keyring hitch point. The way the eyelet is positioned really interrupts the "flow" when you are trying to slide it back into your pocket. This is especially noticeable if you carry your multi-tools in a jeans change pocket—it snagged more often than not, which makes it feel a bit clunky for quick access. Overall, it’s an okay piece for the budget, but you get what you pay for in terms of steel quality and ergonomics. ?️
