GARBERG STAINLESS
Beautiful, absolute perfection. 14C28N is perfect for task. See Larrin Thomas at 'Knife Steel Nerds' for full gen on this steel - see 'Nitrogen knife steels' and 'best budget knife steel'. Hate the word budget in this context !. Look at the proliferation of 14C28N, lovely stuff. It's toughness ensures the good health of our vulnerable edge as it bravely progresses through the cut medium, easily shrugging off those nasty lateral loads as it encounters different densities. An important thing is that it's an Alleima (Sandvik) steel, always a very fine grain structure - toughness. HRC is 58. Mora state they use a Cryo treatment on this knife. The HRC of 58 indicates they're following Alleima's -20° Cryo treatment (their other is -70° which results in 59 HRC). That's at 225° temper (off the top of my head). What all this means is you end up with a blade with an optimal heat treat, of course done on Mora's own premises, thus they have absolute control over it. Handle, they say it's indestructible, I believe it. Mora have a long and proud history, I would absolutely recommend this knife. AL.
