A durable and versatile knife for bushcraft, camping and hunting – ideal for food preparation, carving and lighter tasks in outdoor settings.

UNIQUE COMBINATION OF STRENGTH AND DESIGN

  • The matte black DLC coating provides extra protection against corrosion and reduces reflections. Together with the black handle and knife sheath, the knife has a robust and unified look.

FERRO ROD COMPATIBLE – FOR BUSHCRAFT, HUNTING AND CAMPING

  • The ferro rod compatible knife is well-suited for tasks such as making feather sticks, shaping tent pegs, or carving small utensils like butter knives, spatulas and spoons. It also works perfectly for food preparation and other light duties in the outdoors.

SECURE GRIP AND USER-FRIENDLY DESIGN

SWEDISH STAINLESS STEEL WITH DLC PROTECTION

    2000 14C28N BLACK BLADE

Posted by BIG AL on 20th Feb 2026

Superb. Morakniv's treat on this steel is perfect. You won't find a better treat on 14C28N anywhere, honestly. Sub -70°C Cryo, very slight mod/tweak of (one of) Alleima's recommended programs. Holds a edge on the push noticeably better than 12C27 on standard 2000, although a properly sharpened edge on latter is certainly no slouch. Highly recommend - go Morakniv !.

    Mora 2000 14C28N

Posted by BIG AL on 17th Feb 2026

This knife, as many will know, is the only one (apart from the Garberg) that has 14C28N in Morakniv's range. It receives exactly the same treat - as far as I know as the Garberg blade, both use a very slightly tweaked Alleima recommended/suggested -70°C Cryo treatment. Retained Austenite, at below -70°C must be very CLOSE to, or at 15%, Alleima's 'Ideal'. Performance ?, seriously, you're not going to find a better treated 14C28N blade than this, see Morakniv's website for 'specs', and the steel comes from just down the road from Morakniv (Sandviken). On the push with say a 33° inclusive 'microbevel', as I use, applied (at this angle virtually 'invisible' in side profile), there is no visible effect on the edge after fifty crossgrain cuts in hard Beech, still shaving sharp and almost hair popping. Noticeably better than the 12C27 on the standard 2000, although 12C27 's no slouch (when treated by Morakniv - i.e., as it SHOULD be treated). Remember, all heat treating is done by Morakniv on their own premises, they know exactly what they're doing !. Superb knife - Mora 2000 +. AL.
