The MKM Root once again proves that MKM really are at the top of their game and by partnering with Jens Anso they have ensured they are getting a top class design. The slip joint, non-locking design with a sub three inch blade means that the Root is legal to carry in the UK. It's a traditional set-up but bang up to date in it's aesthetics and materials.
The blade of the MKM Root Micarta is M390 stainless steel which is a powder steel with unbelievable strength and edge resistance, often referred to as a "super steel."
The handle is Titanium with, in this version, a micarta inlay in green or natural colouring. Its sleek design, Titanium handle and Wharncliff blade make it a beautifully balanced knife for using or just for looking at!
It is supplied with a leather belt sheath.

TLDR Love the aesthetics and blade, hate the ergonomics. Don't get me wrong, this is a nice knife. Just not as great as I'd expect from a knife this price. It has similar build quality to the Cellina and I think uses the same pivot, as well as the pouch. The blade is very nice, M390 is one of my favourite steels. I like the design with the 'speed holes', and is nice a thin behind the edge, and is very sharp. My problems start with the handle. It looks great , but the first cut out for the index finger brings it into contact with two sharp corners just behind the pivot. The scales are unlined and quite uncomfortable, unlike the Micarta Cellina which has nice rounded liners. The second cut out is too wide for a single finger but too narrow for two finger to sit comfortably. It's a lot of money for an uncomfortable knife (in my hands) in my opinion.
