The Maserin Spadino Champage Sabre.
Sabrage is the technique for opening a champagne bottle with a saber. This technique became popular in France after the French Revolution. The saber was the weapon of choice for Napoleon's fearsome cavalry and the spectacular victories across Europe gave them plenty to celebrate.
An experienced sommelier can open a bottle with very little loss of champagne. The cork and collar of the bottle are removed with a swift and accurate action, whereby the sword is slid down the neck of the bottle.
This Maserin version is a smaller but no less effective Sabrage knife. It has an attractive Olive wood handle with decorative tassle and is supplied with a leather sheath. Like all knives of this type it has no edge. It is the perfect accessory to a wedding or other formal occasion.
