D2 trapper
Took a punt on a marbles budget blade after buying two QSP knives which are tremendous value for money. Beautiful looking knife, really tiny gaps between the back springs and liners and the fit between the bolsters and the micarta scales is excellent. Then when checking the blades I realised the main clip point blade was bent, not a gentle banana bend but a creased angular bend as if it had been shut in a door. I genuinely couldn't believe it. I tried to correct it by pressing on a wooden chopping board but it wasn't until I gave it some real cranking with the pliers on a leatherman that I could make any progress. Ironically the blade would've been dead centre had it been straight. It's now pretty good, you wouldn't notice if you didn't know. Question is, how did this leave the factory??? The real tricky parts of the manufacture had been done to a high standard but what sort of quality control let's a bent blade get through. The knife is now lovely but I really can't decide if I'll chance any more. Maybe I'll stick to the better brands. Having said that, I'd happily recommend QSP
