The handle on this knife is very small and has no swell at the pommel, so if you actually intend to use it for any kind of slashing/chopping work you will very quickly find your hand and wrist becoming tired. The contoured handle does nothing to improve grip because your palm isn't supported where it needs to be. The blade is poorly balanced for chopping/slashing, with no excess weight at the front. The handguard prevents choking up on the choil for close work, preventing the short light blade from doing the one thing it should be good at. In all honesty the whole thing could do with being 20% bigger. A better grip and longer blade would make this a fairly decent machete. I've bought other Boker Magnum knives and they've been real workhorses, but this just feels like it was designed for looks rather than practicality. I wouldn't buy this again now I've seen and held it up close.
