Leatherman Arc Multi-Tool 18

I bought one of these to replace my Leatherman Wave that I recently left with my Daughter who lives in Oz. I had my Wave, bits kit and extension for years and had a lot of use of of it. But this Arc is definitely an upgrade. Much more useful with everything accessible with one hand. I've only had it a week and it's been used must days. Everything has stood up to the challenge. The MagnaCut blade is much sharper and hold its edge better than other knives I've got/had. It comes with a reduced bits kit, pocket clip and case. So far I've not needed any additional bits to the ones supplied. The case is a good size to accommodate an extension and ratchet attachment. The pocket clip holds it snuggly in place for quick access. The quality, materials and workmanship are high standard as expected from Leatherman. Altogether, a bit pricey compared to other models, but worth it.

Usual top quality service from HH but this is a pricey bit of kit and would have to earn its keep to get my respect. I have carried it for over a month now and love it. It feels great in the hand, looks amazing and every part of the tool functions well. Worth every penny!

I've had my leatherman arc for 15 months, I find that the Magnacut blade doesn't keep its edge & goes dull after only light cutting, maybe it could be a heat treat issue? The rest of the tools work well.....except for the pliers, I find that when using them, the handles have a large amount of flexing which I find very annoying, it feels like the handles are made of rubber! I've tried to like this multitool, but I just can not get on with it & because of this I've gone back to using my leatherman Charge TTI, which in my opinion is a far better tool.

I bought my 1st Leatherman on the 80s and they have never let me down. I've never broken one and had more than on stolen . Personally I think that the ARC is the best Leatherman so far. The only downside is that it's a premium price for a premium product

Not my first leatherman but it's mostly better than my Free P4 just because the tools are a better selection (bit swap etc). The blade is beter and I guess that's why the price is so high. Well finished but only the user can say whether it's 50% better than a Free (pound for pound) or - for that matter - 500% better than (say) a DC30 from China

I have had one of these a couple of months - I use it most days and it wonderfully meets my expectations set up by the description. The one-handedness, the magnets, the cutting ability of the pliers - all terrific. The pouch is a little baggy, but otherwise I am very pleased.

I’ve given the ARC 5 stars because I can’t fault it but whether it’s worth £260 or not is up to the individual. Opening and closing is very smooth and it has both awl and scissors, the tools that I use most after the blade. I would have liked a blade exchanger like the Surge as I find saws tend to distort if you use them a lot. All in all an excellent tool but if you’re happy with your Wave+ you may wonder what the fuss is all about.

I really like this tool, it feels familiar as I’ve previously owned a free P4, but the toolset is flawless. I’ve never used a sewing eye on an awl, it just makes the tool weaker so I’m glad they omitted it. I love the Magnacut blade steel And the choice of outside tools is superb; the file is an outstanding choice. My one critique is the handleds which are smooth and featureless; the free series had a lovely tactile ‘morse code’ pattern. I suspect LM Have done this to push their custom engraving options. If you aren’t up for paying for that, I think the tool is needlessly dull.

First of all, I ordered this at 9am on launch day and received it the following day at 11am via DPD, incredible service! As for the ARC, it's a silky smooth, well-equipped multitool. Everything can be operated one handed which is a neat feature and all the side tools pop out without having to use your nails which is great. The fit and finish is gorgeous and the tool feels great to handle. I was worried it might be slippery as it has quite a shiny surface but that's not the case. The MagnaCut blade is solid, sharp and deploys smoothly thanks to the thumb stud. I'm not much of a knife guy, but I can feel the quality and robustness of this premium steel. All in all, this is the best Leatherman I own. So it should be for the money, but I suppose you do get what you pay for, and this tool is an absolute corker.
