Description

Named after the infamous Drop Bear of Australian lore, and building upon the success of earlier models, the Kizer Drop Bear is an elegant folding blade knife making use of Kizer's Clutch Lock to keep the blade held securely open.

In this model, the snowflake-finished titanium handle has a clever yellow-to-blue gradient. The oxidation process employed by Kizer gives the appearance of shards of ice in the handle scales.

The blade of LC200N stainless steel is a great choice for an everyday pocket knife because of its excellent corrosion resistance and toughness. It is a high-performance steel that was developed specifically for use in harsh environments, such as saltwater environments, where corrosion can be a major issue.

LC200N contains high amounts of nitrogen, which makes it more corrosion-resistant than other types of stainless steel, including 316 and 440C. It is also highly resistant to pitting and crevice corrosion, which can be a problem in saltwater environments.

In addition to its corrosion resistance, LC200N is also extremely tough and has excellent edge retention. It is a relatively hard steel, with a Rockwell hardness of around 59-60, which means it can hold a sharp edge for a long time. It is also more wear-resistant than many other types of stainless steel.

Overall, if you are looking for a pocket knife that can withstand tough, everyday use and exposure to harsh environments, the Kizer Drop Bear is the knife for you.

    LC200N Kizer Drop Bear

Posted by Tom on 14th Aug 2025

I'll start by saying this is a lovely knife. Well made, very sturdy construction. Beautiful pattern on the handle that catches the sunlight very nicely. I'm a fan of the crystallised titanium look but often it comes with a significant price tag, I don't feel this is too expensive. The blade is sharp out of the box. The LC2002 blade metal seems good so far, although hasn't really been tested at all outside opening boxes. The mechanism on the blade is very fun to fidget with, although the noise definitely irritates others around me if I get carried away. I would say that the pull back to open the lock feels a little grindy to me, but perhaps I can fix that with a good clean out and it hasn't been a huge negative for me. The black paint around the lock pin has worn off a bit where the blade stops against it and has spread black paint powder onto the back of the blade at the contact point. This is not a huge concern and is only noticeable if I peer carefully into the mechanism of the knife. I couldn't see it just looking at the outside or the visible part of the blade and it doesn't appear to have hampered the function of the knife at all. I would also mention that the knife is smaller than I thought it would be based on the photos. I know the measurements from the specifications are accurate, but I think the person holding the knife in the photos has much smaller hands than me because i was suprised it wasn't around an inch longer overall (open) when i held it. I am a 6'2" man with large-ish but not massive hands. This does mean it's a little on the small side for my hand, but definitely still fits and feels secure to use. Overall I would rate this at around 4.6/7 for me. It's not completely prefect, but i feel it's close and to rate it a 4 would imply I had some real issue, which I don't

    Great quality

Posted by Lewis Daden on 25th Apr 2024

My first knife purchase over £100 and I love it. Chose the drop bear over the Benchmade bug out for the superior materials. The snowflake titanium scales are amazing (although a little slick) and the LC200N blade is a slicing machine. The crossbar action is perfect and very fidgety. Pocket clip goes in and out of the pocket easily and doesn’t goose neck out like civivi clips so no chance of snagging and bending. It’s far heavier than the bugout and you don’t get as much grip but I still think I made the right choice. Also really appreciate the extended jimping on the blade.

    Great Action

Really nice knife, looks great, feels great, blade is perfectly centred and the knife action is buttery smooth. A very "playable" knife. First Kizer and not disappointed.
