    uk legal carry

Posted by Sam on 17th May 2023

This knife says on the website that it is legal to carry in the uk, It is a lovely slip joint knife so i can understand the confusion here however the blade length is 3.5 inches making it illegal to carry this is in public Explanation- it says the cutting edge is 7.2cm (under three inches) and on the gov.uk website it states the law is to be under 7.62cm cutting edge. however the information there is outdated - in the case of charles brooker vs DoPP (2005) he had blade of 6” but only 2” was sharpened In this case it was settled that the blade is to be measured by the entire length not just the cutting edge. Therefore this knifes length of 3.5” makes it illegal to carry Hope this helps someone avoid getting in any trouble
