Part of the Kershaw Trifecta
Along with the Iridium and bel air, this is one of the new kershaw knives that comes with the crossbar lock that is an excellent knife for what you are paying. Granted its made out of D2 steel and its been very hot where I live lately (live outside of the UK so can carry whatever I want thank God) and ive noticed that within 3 days it developed rust dots. This is from heavy exposure to moisture however, so thats to be expected. I just used the frog lube product (also purchased from Heinnie) to wash the rust off. But yea out of the 'trifecta' I mentioned, this is the only one running on washers whilst the other two are on ball bearings. Whilst having ball bearings removes blade play and gives it a better drop shut action, using washers makes it much more useable out in environments where it may be susceptible to getting gunked up, thus may be better suited as a 'Hard Use' knife etc etc. Blade Geometry is amazing and looks great as well, the blade is very thin so very slicey. For me the Polymer handles are fine as well... 4 stars, would have definitely bumped it up to 5 if it was made out of a different budget steel such as 14C28N or Nitro V. Well worth it however. Do note that the washers in the pivot have a LONG break in period before they start to swing freely, so theres an excuse for you to fidget with the axis lock, or dura lock in this care. Would definitely recommend ? l
