EMERSON & KERSHAW TEAM UP ON THIS VERSATILE BLADE

Kershaw Knives and Emerson Knives have joined forces on a series of knives that combine the precision engineering of Kershaw with Emerson's uncompromising functional design.

The CQC-4K features a drop-point blade for multi-purpose cutting capability. Black-oxide coating protects the blade and makes it non-reflective, too. A textured G-10 front scale in coyote brown offers a secure grip. The handle back is stainless steel with black-oxide coating. For a safe and solid blade lock up, the CQC-4K has a frame lock.

The CQC-4K is a manual opener using either the thumb disk or the patented Emerson "wave shaped feature." This opening feature enables the knife to be opened as it is removed from the pocket. By the time the knife has been fully withdrawn from the pocket, the blade is deployed and ready for use. A small wave-shaped tab on the top of the blade is built to catch on the pocket seam, opening the knife as it comes out of the pocket. This instant-open feature is a favorite among military, rescue, and law enforcement knife users

The pocketclip is reversible for left- or right-handed carry.

Posted by Martin Banks on 16th Sep 2022

The CQC4 is a good guility knife to try the emerson wave design out ... its very versitile for the materials used ...its easy to use with both the thumb disc and the emerson wave ... it didnt take me no more then 2 attemps to work it out ... however i shouuld of ordered the CQC5 first as not all that keen on frame locks ... but still its not a knife thats going to be stuck in a safe and forgotten about ... and as always HH deliver exerlant service

Nice little milspec beater for little over 40 quid.

Like all Emerson designs (even the cheaper Kershaws) these knives are primarily marketed by Ernie [...] to martial artists, first responders, military, and not as EDC [...]. In this capacity the CQC4K is the perfect sized folder to drop into a molle strap or webbing pouch. Rock solid build, sharp edge out of the box with a decent symmetrical grind. Does have some typical hangups of the Chinese manufactured knife: Hardware used are painted screws prone to head stripping. Emerson designs do not use torx as a design philosophy but better crossheads from factory would be nice. Blade rides on tiny teflon washers, making for a sloppy action typical of shorter length blades on small nylons. Short blade with perpendicular thumb disc deters long cuts through material. Can be improved with some 101 tweaks but still great [...] for the money. Try a K.Em to see if Emerson designs are for you. HH service impeccable as always.

    Happy !

This Was a last minute buy for me, But I'm glad i pulled the trigger on this one, For starters you might have to oil lube and adjust the pivot on this knife , but once its set up correctly it is a dream to open and close. Its a little heavy but feels like you have a good quality knife in hand , Frame Lock is 90% solid ... The Coyote brown sets the knife off nicely Not sure if there are other colour options on this model but i can see a blacked out one selling well. I will be buying the 2K to add to my collection too . HH are Great and will advise you on all the products they sell not just Knifes 10/10 service as usual . Thanks guys .

    Great value for money!

    Posted by PERKISS123 on 9th Nov 2014

I have wanted an Emerson knife for a while but found them to be quite expensive. Therefore, when I discovered the range of Kershaw Emerson CQC knives, I ordered both the CQC4 and 5 as the handle scales were a little different in the Coyote brown and Olive green. I love both knives and probably prefer the frame lock on the CQC4, although I feel that the finish on the CQC5 is better. The size is ideal as it is not too big but still manages to be large enough for a full four finger grip. The wave feature is excellent and works better than I expected. For the money, this range of knives is exceptional and I will be purchasing more...
